West Lakes Canoe Club Social paddle with the Dolphins in the Port River.

Held the last Sunday of the Month. Bookings essential.  Contact Roger French,  rogerfrench@shc.sa.edu.au or call/SMS to 0401 278 700

We meet at the West Lakes Canoe Club at 8:00 AM for an 8:30 AM start.  We will (carefully) carry our canoes & kayaks across Bower Road and enter the Port River on the other side. We will paddle past the Birkenhead Tavern, then the Port River Expressway and return, a distance of (approx.) 5 km return.

You just need to wear appropriate sunsmart clothing, hat, sunglasses, footwear (we are walking over reclaimed land), bring a drink bottle & camera (optional).

No experience is necessary, children over 8 years of age are welcome and you will guided by an Australian Canoeing qualified Flatwater Instructor – Roger French.

No Dolphin guarantee 🙂

REMEMBER: parts of the Port River are a Sanctuary for Dolphins and that paddlers are not to approach Dolphins and must stay well clear of them.  Dolphins are inquisitive mammals and if they come to say hello – well that’s great – but you will be required to stop paddling until they move on.
